Local Motion Bike Rentals

Our Trailside Center Bike Rental Shop is located directly on the Island Line Trail. We are a seven mile mostly flat ride along Lake Champlain to the magnificent Colchester Causeway. From the end of the Causeway we operate a Bike Ferry that take riders a short distance to the Hero Islands. Rentals are by credit card, reservations are strongly encouraged, and can be made online. We rent e-bikes, comfort bikes and hybrids; all perfectly suited to the bike path and Causeway. Our hours are from 9am to 6pm. Local Motion’s mission is to make it safe, accessible, and fun for everyone to bike, walk, and roll in Vermont.
