The Vermont Land Trust unites land and lives for the benefit of people and the place we share. Since 1977, we have protected 620,000+ acres in Vermont. These farms, forests, and community spaces shape our identity and support our well-being. They provide healthy food and clean water, habitat for plants and wildlife, economic opportunity, protection from a changing climate, and natural areas that delight. Strengthening the bonds between land and people is central. In partnership with landowners, we protect land with ecological and economic value, and steward 2,200+ conserved properties. We work with communities to protect their treasured places, and we serve everyone through resources and education that deepen our connection to Vermont.
